From the 1-st till 12-th of June, Moscow will be hosting the most renowned symphony orchestras and most famous maestros at the IV Festival of the World's Symphony Orchestras. The unique cultural event is causing a wide resonance for the last four year. The Festival acquainted the public with the world popular orchestras, and once again it showed that the Russian symphonic orchestras can stay among of the best orchestras of the world. It proved its necessity and importance and became the largest cultural event not only in Moscow, but also in Russia in the critics’ and audience’s opinions.
The president of the Russian Federation Dmitriy Medvedev appreciated the Festival at its true value and sent a Letter to it’s participants and organizers.
The Festival of the World's Symphony Orchestras is dedicated to the Day of Russia. This year the Festival will take place in the Column's Hall of the House of Union again.
Outstanding orchestras of Russia and of the Europe will take part in the IV Festival of the World's Symphony Orchestras. They will play masterpieces of great composers of the past and the present. In traditionally three foreign symphonic orchestras and two Russian collectives – a regional orchestra (Omsk) and a Russian National symphony orchestra (RNO) - will be presented at the Festival. Interesting repertoire of each orchestra, combination of innovation and performing traditions allow to call this Festival the significant action in the Moscow cultural life.
The program of the IV Festival will open Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse with Maestro Sokhiev. The second to be on the stage will be Budapest Festival orchestra under baton of Ivan Fisher. WDR Sinfornieorchester Cologne with Semyon Bychkov will follow the pace. Russian part will start with appearance of Omsk Academic Symphony orchestra with conductor Dmitry Vasiliev. The 12-th of June, The Day of Russia, performance with Russian National orchestra and fabulous Maestro Pletnev at the first part and young and talented conductor Mikhail Tatarnikov at the second, will close this Festival.

Organizers of the Festival are sure that this cultural event which doesn’t have analogues and parallels in the world concert practice will promote consolidation of intercommunication between the orchestras and decorate the musical life of Russia.
The Festival of the World's Symphony Orchestras is realized with support of the Culture and Art Council at the President of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Culture of Russian Federation. The organizer of the Festival is Symphony and Chamber Orchestras Leaders’ Association (SCOLA). The president of SCOLA is Maestro Yuri Temirkanov.
