Festival organizers

The initiative of the Festival of the World's Symphony Orchestras is supported by the President of the Russian Federation.

The festival is conducted with the following support:
  • Council of Culture and Arts under the President of the Russian Federation
  • Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation

The organiser of the festival is the Symphony and Chamber Orchestras Leaders' Association "SCOLA"

SCOLA was formed on 20 March 2005 in St Petersburg. Enormous organisational work preceded the adoption of this momentous decision, determined, in particular, by the protocol of the Directors of Symphony Orchestras Seminar which took place on 14 and 15 December 2004.

SCOLA presently manages its organisation with a strictly defined administrative structure and a clear understanding of its objectives and methods of resolution. Thanks to its wide public and business connections, the Association plans to conduct a rich selection of master-classes and seminars, which will certainly be useful for orchestra directors. Serious work on the development and formation of bases for orchestras and musicians has begun.

The foremost result of the activities of the Association was the realisation in June 2006 of the Festival of the World's Symphony Orchestras. The event caused a great sensation and became a defining moment for the work of SCOLA.
